The Summary of Regional Mineral Resources in Sichuan Province (as one of the chief editors) won the second prize of science and technology progress issued by Sichuan Provincial People’s Government in 1989.
For more than a decade, in order to actively strive for expanding the industrial chain, our team independently designed the prospecting scheme and executed the trench and drilling construction for thousands of meters in the exploration and development process of Suoluogou gold deposit in Muli County and Zheboshan gold deposit in Songpan County in strict accordance with the requirements of national exploration specification, and thus our team promptly mastered the ore grade, reserves, ore body shape and occurrence change law, which plays a very important guiding role in the exploration and development work. Our team obtained precious experience in the construction of exploration engineering. The development of Suoluogou gold deposit in Muli County currently has been listed as the only developed large gold deposit by Sichuan Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources. Our team has the ability to complete the project tasks in the construction of mineral exploration engineering having the corresponding qualifications.
(II) Mineral Resource Planning, Reserves Confirmation, Dynamic Reserves Monitoring and Development and Utilization Scheme
Our team completed the planning of mineral resources for local governments in dozens of cities and counties like Chengdu City, Guang’an City, Bazhong City, Jiajiang County, Kaijiang County and Xuyong County; compiled hundreds of copies of mineral resource reserves confirmation reports, dynamic reserves monitoring reports and mineral resource development and utilization schemes for local mining enterprises to actively support the local economic construction.
II. Regional Geological Survey
Our team is the only regional geological survey team in Sichuan Province. Our team already has had a history of more than 50 years since our establishment in 1959. Our team completed more than 80 regional geological (mineral) survey maps (1:1,000,000, 1:200,000 and 1:50,000) within the province, including most areas in Sichuan Province like Longmen Mountain, the Daba Mountains and Western Sichuan Plateau as well as some areas in Tibet and Xinjiang. Our team has accumulated rich basic geological data for the country, and various results have shown obvious benefits in production, scientific research and teaching and manifested very important service value. In the completed regional survey reports, seven regional geological survey projects (1:200,000) like Regional Geological Survey Report on Geological Survey Maps in Litang, Daocheng and Gongling (1:200,000) respectively won the third prize of geological exploration issued by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the People’s Republic of China; and three regional geological survey projects like Geological Map in Xiyoufang and Wajiaoba and its Specification (1:50,000) respectively won the third prize of geological exploration issued by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the People’s Republic of China. Many monographs mainly edited by our team, like Regional Geology of Sichuan Province, Metamorphic map of Sichuan Province and its Specification (1:200,000), Work Manual for Regional Geological Survey (1:50,000) and Research Degree Map on Regional Geological Survey of Sichuan Province and its Specification, were highly praised by the peers within the province, among which the Regional Geology of Sichuan Province won the second prize in science and technology progress issued by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of the People’s Republic of China.
The regional geological survey maps (1:200,000) completed by our team for Tibet Autonomous Region for more than a decade include the geological survey maps in Changdu, Luolong, Neiwuqi, Laduo, Basu and Songzong; and the maps completed (1:250,000) include the geological survey maps in Cuoqin County, Wuma, Geji County (cooperated with the Remote Sensing Center) and Bange County (cooperated with the Tibet regional geological survey team).
There are totally 16 regional geological and mineral resource survey maps (1:50,000) completed for Xinjiang Autonomous Region, specifically including Buerjin Chonghuer Region, Habahe Region, Aheqi Region, Dinahe Region and Baicheng Region.
To complete the above regional geological survey tasks assigned by the nation, the regional geological survey workers experienced mountain hypoxia, severely cold ice and snow, debris flow, earthquake, flood and hardship of the arduous fieldwork through more than 50 years’ hard work, and even more than 10 regional geological survey workers devoted their lives for it. This team was granted the title of “Daqing-style” enterprise by the ministry and province and advanced unit of political and ideological work by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, and three workers were granted the title of model worker by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and Sichuan Province. Therefore, Sichuan Regional Geological Survey Team is a geological team having a glorious historical tradition, and her eternal spirit is suffering from great pains, having hard technique and forging ahead.
III. Geochemical Exploration
The regional geological survey is always combined with multiple geological exploration means. As one of the most commonly used means in geological prospecting, geochemical exploration is widely used in each stage of regional geological mineral prospecting.
All the regional geological survey maps (1:200,000) undertaken by our team underwent geochemical prospecting coverage and thousands of anomalies were delineated, based on which various important geochemical exploration anomalies underwent full anomaly inspection and anomaly verification. More than one thousand ore deposits and occurrences were found. Our team provided very favorable prospecting target areas for the further exploration of associate geological survey units. In the second generation of geochemical prospecting coverage (1:200,000), the projects completed by our team include the Specification for Geochemical Map in Dujiangyan (1:200,000), Specification for Geochemical Map in Daocheng (1:200,000), Specification for Geochemical Map in Xiaojin (1:200,000), Specification for Geochemical Map in Gongling (1:200,000), Specification for Geochemical Map in Guanyinqiao (1:200,000), Specification for Geochemical Map in Nanmuda (1:200,000), and Specification for Geochemical Map in Jiuzhi-A’ba (1:200,000).
In addition, our team independently completed multiple scientific research and production tasks like the Specification for Anomaly Map of Copper-lead-zinc-gold-silver Geochemical Exploration in the Western Region of Sichuan Province and compiled Multi-objective Geochemical Survey in Chengdu Area and thus made due contributions to national economic construction.
