The initial task of the laboratory of the Regional Geological Survey Team is to complete the tremendous testing and analysis work of the regional geological survey, mineral geological survey, geochemical exploration and other geological research projects undertaken by the Regional Geological Survey Team. Through long-term practical work, the laboratory has accumulated a wealth of practical experience, and mastered a large number of scientific testing and inspection methods. The laboratory has more than 30 existing senior, intermediate and junior professional technical personnel, and passed the metrology accreditation of Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Sichuan Province PRC. After several generations' unremitting efforts, the laboratory has developed into a testing agency with a considerable size and testing capacity.
At present, the testing center of the team is able to analyze, assay, identify and test a total of 85 items of 9 categories in rocks, minerals, soils and water quality. The categories include black metal ore samples, water quality analysis samples, non-ferrous metal mineral samples, environmental geological samples, precious metal ore samples, agricultural geological samples, non-metallic mineral samples, medical geological samples, and hydrological engineering geological samples.
Through more than 20 years of work, the testing center has completed the testing and analysis tasks of 47 regional survey and mineral map sheets of 1: 200,000, 41 regional survey and mineral map sheets of 1: 50,000, 10 regional survey map sheets of 1: 250,000, 7 geochemical exploration map sheets of 1: 200,000 and public geological project samples. The preliminary statistics are as follows: 25,000 chemical analyses, with analysis indexes reaching 300,000; 100,000 quantitative spectroscopic and semi-quantitative analyses, with analysis indexes exceeding 300,000; more than 50,000 rock and mineral identifications; 70,133 heavy concentrate identifications; 85,117 combination analyses of geochemical samples; 30,000 analyses of trace gold, touchstone and gold-bearing carbon samples; 26,097 paleontology identifications. Timeliness in sample analysis, identification and testing report issuance has been achieved in the above testing work, with a qualification rate of external inspection of 98%. The timeliness and accuracy of the testing and analysis results not only guarantee and improve the quality of the work and the degree of research, but also provide a large number of prospecting information, which provides a scientific basis for mineral development.
