Main Achievements
His paper the Geochemical Environment and Ecological Environment Evaluation of Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Zone was selected into the academic paper memoir compiled by Sichuan Geochemistry Specialized Committee.
He wrote the papers including Special Geoheritages in Mount Siguniang---Exotic Plantation under the Context of Special Elements and Mount Siguniang---Exceptional Geopark etc.;
In the aspects of elementary geology, conducted multi-strata division and comparison on the stratum system in Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong District, and divided it into biostratum, paleoecology stratigraphy, chemical stratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy etc.; further enhanced the precision of stratigraphic research in the study area.
Hosted and studied the project of Mount Siguniang ecological geological environmental survey, and conducted in-depth research on the geological causes of most landscapes in Mount Siguniang National Scenic Zone to newly discover one batch of significant landscape resources.
Comrade PENG Dong vigorously promotes the organic integration of field geology and scientific research in his work. In 2001, he used multiple measures including cluster analysis, rare earth and trace element study, and utilized the abundance estimation method to evaluate Sichuan Xiaojin-Lixain County Niobium Tantalum Prospect Resource Volume. In 2003, engaged in 1:50000 Xinjiang regional geology and mineral resource survey, and provided reliable basis for the regularity of ore formation and selection of prospecting target areas through his solid field work and accurate indoor research. In 1:50000 regional assignments, successively discovered several gold and other metal polymetallic ore as well as non-metallic ore occurrences in Xinjiang and Sichuan.
Awards
From 2000 to 2001, participated in the compilation work of Overall Planning for Sichuan Geological Remains Protection and Geopark Development for comprehensive study and evaluation on Sichuan Geological relic resource status, attaining the Third Prize of Sichuan Sci-tech Advancement in 2002.
In Aug. 2008, selected into the list of Youth Sci-tech Backbones in the Ministry of Land and Resources.
